1. The Norwegian Pavilion

The Norwegian Pavilion

The Norwegian Pavilion, also known as the Norwegian House, was built by Eugen Füllner from 1906 to 1909 in accordance with the architect Einar Smith’s draft based on the Frognersaeteren pavilion in Oslo, designed by Holm Hansen Munthe, the progenitor of the Dragestil architectural style (a.k.a. the Norwegian style or the Dragon style architecture).

The building was constructed with locally sourced wood and granite by Carl and Paul Ansorge from Warmbrunn.

Eugen Füllner founded the park and the Norwegian Pavillon on February 27th 1906 on the occasion of emperor Wilhelm II’s and Augusta Viktoria von Liegnitz’ Silver Jubilee. The restaurant at the Norwegian House was opened on July 18th 1909.
