1. SOUTHERN WHITE RHINOCEROS
(Ceratotherium simum simum)
The rhino named „Boś” came from a Nature Reserve: Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Park in central KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
He was born around year 1970. In 1971 he was transported to the Zoological Garden in Chorzów (Poland), where he was paired with female rhino named „Faith”. Her skeleton is placed on the ground floor of the Museum, while dermoplastic exhibit can be seen at the diorama on the 1st floor.
After his death in 2011 Rhino „Boś” was planned to be put up as an exhibit in our museum.
