Son of the baron Christoph, brother-in-law of Johann Christian, duke of Brieg (Brzeg) and Georg Rudolf, duke of Liegnitz (Legnica); lord of the Kynast (Chojnik) and Greiffenstein (Gryf) castles; Freiherr of Trachtenberg (Żmigród), Semperfrei (possessing all the rights of Silesian dukes of the empire); lord of Schmiedeberg (Kowary), Trachtenberg (Żmigród), Prausnitz (Prusice), etc.; during the reign of emperor Ferdinand II he was a general of cavalry; executed for treason in 1635.
